==Events== ;November 10 : * The transportation officials of 17 Asian nations meet in Busan and sign the Trans-Asian Railway Network Agreement that authorizes the construction of a trans-Asian railway. Cosigners of the agreement include, in alphabetical order, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, China, South Korea, Russia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. Hunter Harrison, the railway's current CEO, for one year setting the new contract expiration date as December 31, 2009.
